MS Excel-Disaster Turned Fun!!!!

Two and half years down the line working with a multinational company much obsessed with MS excel..it was much of a nightmare for me when i got started...Being a Mass Communication graduate it was always fun to play with designer software and i enjoyed it immensely, It was a sheer bad luck that we couldn't complete the module of Ms Excel during our software learning days in graduation..
Ms Excel was much of a disaster for me...where i hardly knew the formulas, Tables , Charts and reading figures and making stories out of it was just another impossible task i dreaded....
"LEARN Excel , it will help you a lot..."-hated those words when i heard them coming....
I was stuck in a tunnel with dead end....no options left but to learn the thing i simply could not find the heads and tails of...
First Step- with a big frown on my face, Pulled out the note books of my big sisters MBA -Excel lessons....Read the basics...
OK it was not all that difficult as i thought but then it was just basics.. well i could make good formats using colours and charts similar to my designer software but what about those sophisticated formulas and tables.....
 My jealous Scorpion nature emerged every time i saw people enjoying things they could do on excel...but of course why would i ask anyone..they will only laugh at me...but then jealousy sometimes works wonders...I wanted to enjoy excel too...
Second Step-Driven by my whim, i went ahead and googled Ms Excel Easy Tutorials....Making easy as an emphasized word...went through the tutorial and read the entire chapter on Pivot....I enjoyed it...Tried making Pivot once..it didnt work out well...twice it was ok but not as good as i had anticipated....
 Third Step- My quest was not satisfied i needed to make pivots as good as every body else did...or at least those around me enjoyed...Pulled out some reference files and started toying around with the pre-made pivots...i could actually understand them and make new ones similar to those....Finally...one hurdle over but Playing with figures was much of a trouble even now...I could make pivots but couldn't play with fields to bring out different dimensions or the stated stories..but at least i could use Ms Excel..

I have been using it for over one and a half years now and all of a sudden i realize that, i too have started playing with figures...i can actually take out any form of picture from it. i can play with fields without even realizing it....

It sure is Fun......guess few hurdles like MS Excel are worth crossing....
